A new interchange is planned for I-985 at Tanners Creek. This interchange will be located halfway between exit 12 (Flowery Branch) and exit 16 (Oakwood) and is expected to be called exit 14. Approved by the Federal Highway Administration, exit 14 will be built by the Georgia Depatment of Transportation and is schedule for right-of-way acquisition and engineering after 2006.
